Summit Medical Group Relocates to Berkeley Heights; 250,000 square-foot Medical Facility at the former Dun & Bradstreet Campus

SUMMIT, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 26, 2006--Summit Medical Group (SMG), New Jersey's premier multi-specialty group practice, has announced a relocation of most of their offices to a new campus in Berkeley Heights. This relocation will mark the beginning of a new era for SMG. More than 750 SMG employees will relocate to One Diamond Hill Road from offices currently located in Summit, Springfield, Berkeley Heights, and Millburn. However, their satellite offices in Warren, Short Hills, Westfield, and the Medical Arts Center at Overlook Hospital will remain at their present locations. The Berkeley Heights campus is scheduled to open on or about June of 2006, which is the target date for the conclusion of new construction.

Information regarding the planned SMG relocation to Berkeley Heights is available on the Group's Web site,
www.summitmedicalgroup.com, which includes a special relocation section created to answer questions and explain their newly-expanded patient services. This easy-to-navigate section includes a physician locator, personalized driving directions to the new facility from any location, and a section for individual questions, which will be answered via email. A SMG Relocation Telephone Hotline (908-277-8848) is also available for patients and the general public.

Located at the former Dun & Bradstreet complex at the corner of Diamond Hill Road and Mountain Avenue, the new Berkeley Heights facility will provide SMG patients with open access to comprehensive medical services. In addition, the facility will house an Urgent Care Center, all laboratory functions, specialized diagnostic equipment, occupational health services, and executive health services. The 250,000 square-foot state-of-the-art medical facility will also include: a pharmacy, optical shop with full-time optician, health information library, fully equipped same-day surgery center, and many more patient services and amenities.

Additionally, an upscale cafe for patients, family, and SMG staff, as well as a therapeutic day spa will be offered by the Group at the new Berkeley Heights campus.

Continuing its long tradition of providing a large number of medical specialties within one medical group, the new SMG campus will accommodate approximately 30 areas of expertise. Most of SMG's more than 100 board-certified doctors will be located at the Berkeley Heights campus, making it possible for patients to schedule appointments with more than one physician per visit. Each patient's lifelong medical record will continue to be accessible to all physicians on the SMG staff, providing personalized comprehensive patient records. These medical records are also available when patients seek medical care in SMG's Warren, Short Hills and Westfield satellite offices as well as the Medical Arts Center at Overlook Hospital, all of which will not move to the new Berkeley Heights campus.

"Our relocation to Berkeley Heights provides our patients with an outstanding combination of technology and care," said Summit Medical Group Executive Director, Andrew Mintz. "The expanded services, immediate access, and comprehensive diagnostic and treatment systems offered at this new campus will enhance the quality of care our patients have grown to expect."
"As medical care becomes more sophisticated, it is increasingly important for patients to have maximum confidence in their healthcare providers," Mintz continued. "As it has since its founding in 1929, Summit Medical Group continues to effectively meet patient healthcare needs and expectations. Our new Berkeley Heights campus will represent New Jersey's finest facility for integrated medical care."

SMG will continue to accept health insurance from a wide array of regional and national carriers.
The SMG Berkeley Heights facility is easily accessible from Route 78 and features a large parking lot adjacent to the building that is fully lighted and designed to hold hundreds of vehicles. The entire building meets current standards established by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), with elevators, exterior entrances and exits, and interior hallways and doorways designed to be handicapped accessible.

"We're delighted to welcome Summit Medical Group to the Township," said Berkeley Heights Mayor David Cohen. "The thriving Berkeley Heights business community is the perfect locale for this prestigious healthcare organization, and we wish Summit Medical Group every success when it opens its doors here in June."

Founded in 1929 by Dr. William H. Lawrence and Dr. Maynard G. Bensley, Summit Medical Group continues to pioneer the development of multi-specialty group practice. Since its beginnings, SMG has now grown to a level where an average of 30,000 patients per month are treated by the Group's physicians. Summit Medical Group plays a major role in the American Medical Group Association.
