Fashion house opening in NoLIta
Urban fashion mavens soon will be seeing more of retailer DDC Lab.
The fashion house is embarking on an expansion plan that calls for opening shops in major cities across the country. Designers Roberto Crivello and Savania Davies-Keiller just signed their latest deal in NoLIta at 44 Prince St., between Mott and Mulberry streets.
The store will sell the designers' T-shirts, blazers and hoodies in 3,000 square feet on two floors. DDC Lab operates one shop in SoHo, as well as one in the meatpacking district, but the owners specifically wanted to open another location south of Houston Street.
"They only considered Prince Street," says Faith Hope Consolo, the Prudential Douglas Elliman broker who represented the tenant in the deal. "It's for young, hip shoppers with lots of disposable income."
Veracity Real Estate Management Inc. negotiated the 10-year lease on behalf of owner D.K. Property Inc. The asking rent was about $150 per square foot.
This DDC Lab, which replaces a restaurant called Mekong, will serve coffee to its customers on a small patio. Mr. Crivello and Ms. Davies-Keiller launched DDC Lab in 1998.
