Jones Lang LaSalle

Law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati has taken 47,700 square feet at Equity Office Properties' 1301 Sixth Ave.

EOP's vice president for leasing, Michael Berman, repped the ownership, with EOP's leasing director Joseph Artusa, while Washington Realty's Eric Berson repped WSGR. Asking rents in the fully-leased tower have run mid-$60s to upper-$70s.

Meanwhile, EOP has started on its $260 million redesign of 1095 Sixth Ave., the former Verizon headquarters at 42nd Street. EOP redevelopment team head Bob Winter says work has begun on the lobby and some of the office floors.

But the eye-popping changes will be to the exterior, which will be completely reclad starting this year and completed in early 2008.

The redesign by Moed de Armas & Shannon Architects will strip off the dated-looking terra cotta and replace it with a curtain wall of energy-efficient, green-tinted glass - giving the appearance of a brand-new building.

EOP senior vice president Don Huffner and CB Richard Ellis's Robert Alexander are heading up the leasing campaign for the tower's 1 million available square feet, where asking rents will be $80 to $100 a foot.
