EDISON, NJ-The Basketball Shooting Academy has signed a long-term lease for the entire 40,700-sf building at 110-C Talmadge Rd. here. The Woodbridge-based Wick Cos. started construction in December of the building as a warehouse facility on a spec basis. Located on a 27-acre site, and with 30-ft clear ceiling heights, the facility is expected to be completed in August.
John Goodwin, associate, and senior vice president Frank Truesdell of Trammell Crow Co. represented the tenant. The owner was repped in-house by Jon Freeman.
The Basketball Shooting Academy is a coed instructional school headed by Mike Allocco, a former All-American who also played for the Capital Bullets in the NBA and the Virginia Squires of the old ABA. The building will now be built out with 22 shooting instruction stations, and the school will be overseen by a staff of 10 coaches.
Neighboring tenants in the mixed-use neighborhood include two warehouse users and an under-construction Somerset Valley Bank. The school’s site itself is also cleared for strip retail development.
