SECAUCUS, NJ-Arc International North America/Mikasa has signed a lease for 29,511 sf of office space at 100 Plaza Dr. here. The 264,000-sf, four-floor building, owned by locally based Hartz Mountain Industries, is within that company’s larger mixed-use Harmon Meadow complex.

The signing increases Arc International North America/Mikasa’s headquarters presence here, where it employs 200 executive and administrative staffers. Mikasa, a dinnerware and accessories distributor that opened its first outlet store near its original distribution center here in 1978 and has since expanded to a total of 160 retail stores in 40 states, was acquired by the Millville, NJ-based Arc International North America in 2001.

“We will continue to serve the executive and administrative needs of Mikasa,” says Emanuel Stern, Hartz’s president and COO. “They have been part of this community since 1978.” The terms of the lease were not disclosed. Space at the 25-year-old 100 Plaza Dr. is listed on Hartz’s website as being available for a five-year term, with rental rates available “upon request.”
