Burlington Coat is sold for $2.1 billion
BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP -- Burlington Coat Factory Warehouse Corp. said yesterday that it has been purchased for $2.1 billion and taken private by Boston-based Bain Capital Partners LLC. Burlington shareholders on Monday approved the sale, which provided $45.50 a share in cash. More than 86 percent of the outstanding shares were voted in favor of the acquisition.
