Sunday, April 16, 2006
Paul Edick is taking the helm at Medpointe, the Somerset-based pharmaceutical company announced.
Edick, 51, has worked with Medpointe since 2002, and he is currently the president of the company best known for its respiratory, allergy and central nervous system drugs, such as Optivar, which treats pink eye.
Edick will take the reins from MedPointe's chairman, chief executive and co-founder, Anthony Wild, 58, who is retiring.
In a statement, Edick said he would continue to rely on Wild and "gain from his wise counsel."
"The board gave me a wonderful opportunity and Tony has left behind an excellent foundation for future growth," Edick said.
Medpointe is a private company that received its funding from the Carlyle Group and the Cypress Group.
